Logistics Operation Committee
The Logistics Operations Committee initiates projects designed
to help members improve the productivity, efficiency,
and customer satisfaction of the healthcare supply chain. The committee
is actively involved in projects aimed at improving supply chain
operations including the annual Distribution Management Conference & Expo.
In addition, the group acts as an advisor to HDMA staff in developing
industry standards, guidelines, best practices, and publications,
as appropriate to the project(s) at hand.
The committee’s major areas of focus within healthcare distribution
include process automation, information systems, operational integration,
resource management, and quality improvement. Some of the issues
addressed include: automated identification, tracking and tracing,
security, and product returns.
The committee is composed of representatives from both active and associate member companies. Participation on the committee is open to member individuals with the breadth of experience and ability to influence change, such that committee deliverables address the issues of greatest interest to industry, and have a profound impact on operations and profitability.
